Alpine Tracks – Winter Adventure Programme

Thanks to the recent developments in equipment technology, the whole mountain is opening up to all adventurous skiers and boarders and for next season we are teaming up with Mountain Tracks to offer a selection of fantastic off-piste skiing, ski touring and mountain awareness courses.

Off piste skiing
Their 5-day off-piste courses are suitable for everyone from intermediates to experts. All the courses are led by fully-qualified mountain guides. With their professional, friendly approach and max group sizes of 7, the focus is on developing your confidence in a safe and rewarding environment.

The off-piste weeks are available exclusively to Alpine Tracks and must be booked in advance. The scheduled dates are as follows:
Morzine: 7– 14 January 2006
Champoluc: 4– 11 March 2006

Group bookings for other dates available on request.

If 5 days is too much of a commitment, why not try a 2-day off-piste taster course?
Dates available throughout the season. Contact our office for further details.

Ski Touring
Once the exclusive domain of the ‘hard core’ element and the super fit, ski touring is rapidly opening up to everyone who wants to really escape the crowds and enjoy the solitude of the mountains.

Our 3-day programme includes a warm-up day to introduce you to your equipment, acquire the basic climbing skills and learn top tips for handling the descents. On days 2 and 3 you use your new skills for a classic 2-day tour with a night spent in a traditional mountain refuge.

Champoluc: 12– 15 March 2006

Mountain Awareness
Mountain Tracks’ 2-day mountain awareness courses are a complete introduction to the avalanche phenomenon, trip planning, travel techniques and avalanche rescue.
Ideal for everyone new to off-piste skiing and a great review course for anyone with some prior experience.

All participants will receive the American Institute of Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) Level 1 certificate on successful completion of the course.

Morzine: 18 – 20 January 2006
