Voss is the perfect venue for those who can not stand boredom - and perfect for those who just want to relax. Or for parents wanting to activate their children - or for children who want to activate their parents.

There are few places you can get so many experiences springing from nature and culture as here in Voss. For nearly two hundred years we have taken pleasure in welcoming tourists who seek experiences that are out of the ordinary. Voss is situated between Norway´s most famous fjords, the majestic and breathtaking Hardanger and Sogn fjords, and is a natural starting point for exploring Fjord Norway.

Visitors from all over the world come to visit Voss. Whether you are looking for peace and quiet in piqturesque surroundings or feel like challenging mother nature - or yourself - through more "extreme" activities, we can offer something for all tastes: Rafting, paragliding, horse riding in the mountains, sports angling, mountain hikes, bicycle tours, kayak trips, parasailing, sightseeing by sea plane, golf - and much more.

The varied mountain terrain around Voss could have been made for winter sports. It is not without reason that Voss has fostered more Olympic participants than any other place in the world. Voss offers excellent nursery slopes as well as demanding terrain for the most experienced. Voss has also excellent facilities for powder-snow sports. The season is normally from December to April.

Floodlight skiing
Every Wednesday and Friday there is floodlight skiing in Bavallen from 17 - 21 h.

For the Children
Voss also offers a full programme of activities with professional instructors and a children´s play area - "Badnakrokjen" (Kid´s Corner) with a separate Children´s lift.

Snowboard
Bavallen features a dedicatet snowboard park with a Half pipe.
Big Jump, rails and boarder cross located at Slettafjellet.

The alpine slopes
The alpine slopes at Voss lie between Hanguren and Bavallen, with a fantastic view of Voss centre. The area is easily accessible with a cable car running from Voss centre and excellent parking facilities in Bavallen.

Voss has more than 40 km prepared slopes, divided among 14 runs from green to black. A total of 11 lifts carry you safely up to almost 1,000 metres above sea-level.
New ski-centre !

In Myrkdalen, 26km north of Voss in the direction of Vik, a new ski-centre is being constructed. The area is almost 100% guaranteed good skiing snow. The first ski lift opened in December 2002, a cable stretching 1450 metres to the peak of Ondrahaugen.
