Swiss Sponsors for Welsh SkiingSnowsport Cymru Wales, the governing body for Welsh Snowsports, announced today sponsorship from Swiss Bank BCVs (Banque Cantonal du Valais) and Swiss ski resort Champery Les Crosets. The sponsorship package, lasting three years, covers the Celtic Cup Series (a series of artificial ski slope races held throughout GB) and the Welsh Alpine Championships which will be held in the resort of Champery Les Crosets until 2010. The sponsorship gives a secure future for Welsh ski racing with great opportunities to develop its competitive structure in Wales as well as ensuring an excellent venue for its championships for the next three winters. Robin Kellen, Programme Manager at Snowsport Cymru Wales, stated" We are delighted to have the support of Banque Cantonal du Valais and Champery Les Crossets. The resort of Champery Les Crosets provides a first class venue for our alpine championships. There is a huge area of skiing available as it forms part of the Portes du Soleil ski region and its easily accessible from throughout Europe." Partners in the sponsorship package also include Alpine Tracks who are the official accommodation booking partners for the championships and Alpine Lifestyle Partners (an investment agency in Switzerland) who help to coordinate event activities for the championships. The BCVs Celtic Cup Series, sponsored by Champery Les Crosets starts this weekend in Rossendale, then goes to Pontypool 23/24 June with the finals in Gloucester 14/15 July. The Welsh Alpine Championships will be in Champery Les Crosets 19-26th January 2008.
