Champoluc is one of the Alps hidden treasures; a traditional village nestling under Monterosa and The Matterhorn high in the Ayas valley with over 150 kms of piste covering three valleys.

Champoluc is a quiet village with only a handful of bars and one night club; après ski in the Breithorn Pub is popular between 4 and 8pm. The transfer to Champoluc takes roughly 11/2 hours from Turin or 21/2 hours from both Milan or Geneva. All three airports are serviced by lowcost airlines, charter flights as well as the more traditional scheduled flights.

The Skiing
The Monterosa Ski Pass covers 42 lifts that link 3 valleys with over 180 kms of groomed piste. The 6 day ski pass also covers 2 days skiing in other Aosta Valley resorts (Cervinia, Pila, Courmayer).

Beginners
Beginners will soon gain confidence on the nursery slopes situated at the top of the Champoluc ‘Crest’ gondola lift. Tuition from English speaking instructors from Scuola Sci Champoluc ski school will soon have beginners exploring the wide open blue runs above Frachey.

Intermediates
The piste skiing of the Monterosa has been designed for intermediates. Wide open groomed piste connect Champoluc over the Colle Bettaforca to Stafel and Gressoney. Two gondola lifts access the Passo dei Salati for the new blue then red down to Alagna. A new cable car from Alagna allows for quick access back over to Stafel / Gressoney. From Stafel the Champoluc valley is one cable car and one high speed quad chair ride away.
Intermediate skiers will revel in the scope and length of the pistes throughout the Monterosa ski area.

Advanced
While the pistes will keep the more accomplished skiers happy; they really will benefit from the easily accessed off piste that is available. A guide is recommended to make the most of the area.

Heli Skiing
Heli skiing from February onwards is a must for any accomplished skier with drops available that access Zermatt, Cervinia and the Monterosa.
The whole area is very quiet, very rarely are there any queues for any of the lifts.
